Morpheus8 Face & Body: Firmer, Smoother Skin Without Surgery
What Is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment delivered with the InMode Empower RF platform. Fine, coated needles reach precise depths beneath the skin, where they release RF energy to gently heat the layers that produce collagen and elastin.
That controlled heat prompts your skin to repair and rebuild itself over the following weeks. The result is skin that looks firmer, smoother and more even, without incisions or general anesthesia. Because depth and energy are adjustable, treatment can address fine lines, texture, early laxity and scarring on the face, as well as loose or crepey skin on the body.
Every session is customized. Our providers choose the settings, tips and number of passes based on your skin type, concerns and goals, and Morpheus8 is designed to work across a range of skin tones when settings are selected appropriately.

What to Expect During Treatment
From the first conversation to your final follow-up, here is how a typical Morpheus8 journey works.
Consultation
We review your skin concerns, health history and medications, discuss your goals, and confirm Morpheus8 is right for you.
Preparation
Your skin is cleansed, and your provider will discuss comfort options such as a topical numbing cream before treatment begins.
Treatment
The handpiece is guided over the treatment area, delivering RF energy at selected depths. Most people feel warmth and mild pressure. Time varies by area.
Cool-Down & Aftercare
Your skin is soothed and cooled, and you leave with clear aftercare steps and a plan for any follow-up sessions.
Recovery & Aftercare
Downtime varies with treatment depth and area. This is a general timeline. Your provider will give instructions specific to you.
Right after
Expect redness and warmth, a tight feeling, and tiny pinpoint marks where the needles entered. Many people resume normal routines the same day.
Days 2 to 5
Skin may feel rough or dry, and some swelling or light bruising can appear, especially at deeper settings. Makeup is usually fine after one to two days.
Weeks 2 to 12
Any flaking or crusting typically clears within one to three weeks. Results may become noticeable within several weeks, while collagen production can continue for up to three months or more.
Do
- Use a gentle cleanser and the moisturizer your provider recommends
- Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every day
- Stay hydrated and keep skin comfortable
- Let any flaking skin shed on its own
- Follow your provider’s instructions for skincare restarts

- Direct sun exposure and tanning
- Picking, scrubbing or exfoliating treated skin
- Harsh actives such as retinoids or acids until cleared
- Makeup until your skin has settled, usually one to two days

Morpheus8 Questions, Answered
Both use fractional RF microneedling. The difference is in how your provider sets it up: handpiece tip, depth and energy are chosen for the area, with finer, shallower settings for delicate facial skin and deeper settings where body tissue is thicker.
Most people describe warmth, pressure and a prickling sensation. Your provider will discuss comfort options, including topical numbing, so treatment is as comfortable as possible.
Many people do a series of about three treatments spaced three to six weeks apart. Some need fewer and some more, depending on the area, depth and your goals. Your provider will recommend a plan.
Redness and a sunburn-like feel are common for the first few days. Swelling, light bruising or crusting can last longer with deeper settings, often clearing within one to three weeks. Most people wear makeup again after one to two days.
You may notice a glow within days. Collagen remodeling takes time, and visible improvements develop gradually as collagen production continues for up to three months or more. Individual results and timelines vary.
Results vary by person. Your skin keeps aging after treatment, so many patients schedule periodic maintenance sessions and protect results with daily sunscreen and a good skincare routine.
Morpheus8 is designed to work across skin tones when settings are chosen appropriately. Your provider will assess your skin and may adjust energy or recommend preparation for deeper skin tones.
Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or nursing, with a pacemaker or metal implants in the area, with active skin infection or inflammation in the area, or with a history of keloids. Your provider will review your health history to confirm it is safe for you.
